Photography Shoot: Graduation Portraits

I was super stoked when a friend asked if I could take some photos that will go out with her college graduation announcements.

This isn’t travel-themed at all but I wanted to share it here because it’s somewhat of a portfolio of my photography. I’m no professional but I enjoy doing it!

So, without further ado…

  1. The pictures turned out great! Loved the fact you took a different perspective with the camera getting above your subject as well as doing a dutch angle. Also, it was great you took the time to play with the light and highlighted your model. One thing I would suggest is to create more depth of field with your shots. I don’t know what lens or camera you are using so this may be a little tough, but crank up your f-stop and get your backdrop a little further behind your subject. Your intention with senior portraits is to focus on the person graduating and less on the surroundings. Overall great job!

    1. Thanks so much Anthony! I sincerely appreciate the feedback! I’m using a Canon Rebel T2i with the factory lens — 18-55mm. I want to get some better lenses soon, maybe for my birthday next month. haha I’ll definitely work on the depth of field issue. I have a LOT to learn but that’s a good place to start. Thank you again!
